Osório Florindo da Conceição Costa (born February 14, 1966 in Lospalos , Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor . He is a member of the FRETILIN party .

Career

Costa trained as an agricultural engineer. Until 2007 he was a professor at the Universidade Nasionál Timór Lorosa'e (UNTL). In 2007 he moved to the National Parliament of East Timor as a member. From 2007 to 2012 he was a member of the Commission on Poverty Eradication, Rural and Regional Development and Gender Equality (Commission E). During a heated discussion, Costa got into a scuffle in 2008 when he attacked Partido Democrático (PD) MP Vital dos Santos .

After the parliamentary elections in 2012 he became a member of the Commission for Infrastructure, Transport and Communication (Commission E). In the parliamentary elections in East Timor 2017 , Costa ran for FRETILIN in 13th place and thus moved back into the national parliament , but had to give up his seat again according to the constitution when he became Secretary of State for Sport and Promotion of Higher Competition in the VII Government of East Timor was sworn in. His term of office as State Secretary ended when the Eighth Government of East Timor took office on June 22, 2018.

Costa is vice chairman of the AS Ponta Leste sports club . He was also Vice-President of the Federação Futebol Timor-Leste (FFTL) until 2017 and Executive President until 2018.
