Bishop Oscar Cantoni

Oscar Cantoni (born September 1, 1950 in Lenno , Province of Como , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Como .

Life

Oscar Cantoni received on 28 June 1975 by the bishop of Como, Teresio Ferraroni , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 25, 2005, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Crema . The Bishop of Como, Alessandro Maggiolini , ordained him episcopal on March 5th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Italy, Archbishop Paolo Romeo , and the Bishop Emeritus of Como, Teresio Ferraroni. The inauguration took place on March 19, 2005.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Como on October 4, 2016. The inauguration took place on November 27 of the same year.

Oscar Cantoni is Grand Prior of the Italian Lieutenancy Settentrionale of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .
