Oscar Jansson (born December 23, 1990 in Örebro ) is a Swedish football player .

Career

Jansson played at Karlslunds IF in his youth . As the goalkeeper of the Swedish U-16 team, he drew attention outside the country's borders. In October 2006, the then 15-year-old joined the U-18 team of the English professional club Tottenham Hotspur . In 2008 he moved up after good performance in the youth team on the one hand in the reserve team, on the other hand he was part of the team squad in preparation for the Premier League season 2008/09 in the summer of that year . While he subsequently trained irregularly with the first division team, he was a substitute goalkeeper on the bench at the beginning of 2009 at the Europa League game against Shakhtar Donetsk . Without being used in a professional game, he was nominated by the selection coach Jörgen Lennartsson and Tommy Söderberg for the Swedish U-21 national team .

Shortly before the end of the summer transfer period in early September 2009, Jansson moved to Exeter City on loan to replace the injured goalkeeper Paul Jones . In the Football League One he finally celebrated his professional debut. Shortly before the loan period expired at the end of the month, both clubs extended their agreement for a further month, and later the loan deal was extended to early December. After seven third division games, he returned to London after the loan period had expired, where he remained without a commitment for the first team until the end of the season. In August 2010, the club awarded him again, in the Football League Two he ran for Northampton Town . After his return in September, the young player was again no place between the posts in the first division. In August 2011 he left Tottenham again on loan, this time the goal was again a fourth division with Bradford City . After returning from the month-long loan, where he played a league game, he was again a substitute before he was loaned to Irish club Shamrock Rovers in February 2012 until the summer break . There he was a regular player straight away and convinced the club officials to extend their engagement. In July, the club signed him until the end of the season.

At the end of December Jansson signed a three-year contract with the Swedish first division relegated Örebro SK , which Tomer Chencinski had recently given to Maccabi Tel Aviv . At the side of Shpëtim Hasani , Karl Holmberg , Magnus Wikström , Ahmed Yasin Ghani , Patrik Haginge and Samuel Wowoah , he rose with the club at the end of his first season in Swedish professional football to the Allsvenskan . Then he was chosen for the traditional January tour of the | Swedish national team, on January 21, 2014 he made his debut in a 2-0 win over Iceland with goals from Robin Quaison and Guillermo Molins in the national team. In the subsequent first division season he held the class with his club and reached the final of the Swedish National Cup in spring 2015 . In the final against IFK Göteborg , the team missed winning the title with a 1: 2 defeat despite Ayanda Nkili taking the lead . A short time later he lost his regular place to Jacob Rinne , whom he inherited as the first man between the posts the following summer after he moved to KAA Gent . He placed himself with the team in the middle of the table, in September 2017 he meanwhile agreed with the club on a renewed contract extension until the end of 2020.
