Course of the Oscha (Оша) in the catchment area of the Irtysh (yellow) |
The Oscha ( Russian Оша ) is a 530 km long left tributary of the Irtysh in the West Siberian lowlands ( Russia ).
The Osha flows a good 20 km northwest of the city of Tjukalinsk from Lake Koshara , which in turn is fed by the 44 km long Tjukalka . It flows through after a few kilometers to 118 square kilometers of Tenissee which km² with neighboring west 146 large Saltaimsee is connected, and the small lake Atschikul (even this is sometimes given as the origin of Osha). From there, the Osha flows increasingly meandering for about a third of its length in mainly east, north-east and finally north-north-west direction through the southern part of the West Siberian lowlands. It finally flows into the Irtysh, 13 km northwest (downstream) of the village and district administrative center of Znamenskoye .
The catchment area of the river covers 21,300 km². The Osha has only a few tributaries. By far the most important are the Ik (length 48 km) and the Bolshoi Ajow ("Großer Ajow", 266 km), which flows into the lower reaches , both from the left.
The discharge at the village of Shcherbakovo, 43.4 km above the mouth and above the confluence of the equally abundant tributary Bolshoi Ajow, is 4.95 m³ / s on average, with a maximum monthly mean of 20.01 m³ / s in May and a minimum monthly mean of 0.87 m³ / s in March. The river usually freezes over from late October to the second half of April.
There are numerous smaller towns along the entire river. The most important is the Kolossowka Rajon Administrative Center . The regional road from Tjukalinsk to Tara follows the upper and middle reaches on the left bank ; the lower reaches are crossed by the regional road Tara - Tobolsk not far from the confluence .
