Oshane Andre Bailey (born September 8, 1989 in Kingston ) is a Jamaican sprinter who specializes in the 100-meter run .

Athletic career

Oshane Bailey gained his first international experience at the Central America and Caribbean Junior Championships 2006 in Port of Spain , where he won the gold medal with the Jamaican 4 x 100 meter relay. Two years later he won at the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz , Poland , he won silver in 39.25 s with the Jamaican team. In 2010 he won the silver medal over 100 meters at the U23 NACAC championships in Miramar and with the relay and won the silver medal with the relay at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Mayagüez and took fourth place in the individual competition. At the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi he reached the final, but could not compete there due to an injury.

With the Jamaican 4 x 100 meter relay, he won gold at the Central America and Caribbean Championships in Mayagüez in 2011 and again finished fourth over 100 meters. At the Pan American Games in Guadalajara , he was disqualified in the semi-finals over 100 meters, as well as with the relay in the run-up. In 2913 he won again silver at the CAC Championships in Morelia and was eliminated over 100 meters in the first round. At the World Championships in Moscow , he was used in the run-up to the 4 x 100 meter relay and thus contributed to winning the gold medal of the Jamaican team.

In 2014 he took fourth place over 100 meters in 10.39 s at the Pan American Sports Festival in Mexico City . At the Pan American Games in Toronto he was eliminated with the Jamaican relay in the preliminary run, but won the gold medal at the NACAC championships in San José with a new championship record of 38.07 s. At the IAAF World Relays 2017 in the Bahamas , he won the bronze medal behind Canada and the United States with the 4 x 200 meter relay. In April 2018 he again took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where he was eliminated in the semi-finals over 100 meters and won the bronze medal with the relay in 38.35 s.

In 2010, Bailey became the Jamaican 100-meter champion.
