Oskar Eberhard Höfinger (born April 2, 1935 in Golling an der Erlauf , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian sculptor , painter and draftsman .

life and work

From 1950 to 1952, Oskar Höfinger did an apprenticeship as a ceramic modeller with the sculptor Hans Scheibner in the Rath ceramics and fireclay factory owned by August Rath in Krummnussbaum . He then attended from 1952 to 1956 the technical school for wood and stone carving in Hallein with Rudolf Scherrer. From 1956 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, initially with Hans Andre and from 1959 with Fritz Wotruba , graduating in 1961.

In 1960 Höfinger was a judge at the Junge Generation gallery in Vienna, where he also exhibited. In 1961 and 1962 he took part in the symposium of European sculptors by Karl Prantl in Sankt Margarethen in Burgenland and in 1967 and 1968 in the sculpture symposium Lindabrunn by Mathias Hietz in Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn .

Oskar Höfinger lives and works in Vienna . He developed his works in wood, iron, steel , sandstone , granite and marble .
