East German Savings Bank Association
The East German Savings Banks Association (OSV) is the umbrella organization of the savings banks in the federal states of Brandenburg , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt . It is based in Berlin . It represents the interests of 45 member savings banks. The OSV sees itself as a service provider for the savings banks in these federal states. As one of the two regional savings bank associations, it is a member of the German Savings Banks and Giro Association .
structure
The OSV is a corporation under public law . Michael Ermrich is the executive president . In 2014, the remuneration of the Board of Management was 535,000 euros.
The Landesbanken , which also take on the task of a giro center , are:
- Brandenburg: Landesbank Hessen-Thuringia
- Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Norddeutsche Landesbank
- Saxony: Landesbank Baden-Württemberg
- Saxony-Anhalt: North German Landesbank
history
The forerunner organization, the GDR Sparkassenverband , was founded on March 20, 1990. In the same year it was renamed "Ostdeutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband (OSGV)" . The history of the predecessor institutions and its member institutes, however, goes back to the 19th century. From 1952, there were no longer any savings bank associations in the GDR .
In 2005 the OSGV was renamed to its current name.
