Oswald Schiefer

Oswald Schiefer (born July 11, 1950 in Kurtatsch ) is a South Tyrolean politician .

Life

Schiefer, a member of the South Tyrolean People's Party (SVP), was mayor of his home town of Kurtatsch from 1980 to 2010 . From 1991-2013 he served as president of the district community Oltradige-Unterland . In 2010, he took over the chairmanship of the SVP Unterland district as Oskar Peterlini's successor .

In the state elections in 2013 , Schiefer applied as a representative of the Lower Country for a mandate for the South Tyrolean state parliament and, at the same time, the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol , which he was ultimately able to secure with 6,919 preferential votes. He chaired the constituent session of the state parliament on November 22, 2013, as its oldest member. After Dieter Steger was elected to the Senate , he took over the role of parliamentary group spokesman for his party in April 2018. In the 2018 state elections , he missed re-election with 5,511 preferential votes.
