Othmane el-Goumri ( Arabic عثمان الكومري, DMG ʿUṯmān al-Kaumarī ; * May 28, 1992 ) is a Moroccan long-distance runner .

Athletic career

Othmane el-Goumri gained his first international experience in 2010 at the 2010 Cross Country World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where he finished 33rd in the U20 rankings after 23:42 min. The following year he reached the 27th place after 23:57 minutes at the World Cross Country Championships in Punta Umbría . He then took part in the 5000 meter run at the Junior African Championships in Gaborone , but did not reach the finish line there. In 2013 he won the silver medal over 5000 meters behind the Algerian Rabah Aboud at the Mediterranean Games in Mersin in 13: 38.24 minutes . This was followed by participation in the Francophonie Games in Nice , the World Championships in Moscow and the Islamic Solidarity Games in Palembang . In 2014 he took part in the World Indoor Championships in Sopot and in the Africa Championships in Marrakech and in 2015 in the Arab Championships in Madinat Isa and the World Championships in Beijing . In 2016, irregularities were found in his biological passport and as a result all results after the Mediterranean Games in 2013 were canceled and el-Goumri was blocked until 2018.

After his suspension, el-Goumri concentrated on running on the road and finished second in the Rabat Marathon in 2:08:20 hours and then won the KBC Dublin Marathon in 2:08:06 hours.

In 2013, Lahbabi became the Moroccan champion in the 1500 meter run.
