The constituency comprised the majority of what was then the district of Schmalkalden with the cities and communities of Altersbach , Asbach , Breitungen / Werra , Brotterode , Eckardts , Fambach , Floh , Georgenzell , Grumbach , Helmers , Heßles , Hohleborn , Mittelschmalkalden , Mittelstille , Möckers , Niederschmalkalden , Kleinschmalkalden , Rosa , Roßdorf , Rotterode , Schmalkalden , Schnellbach , Schwallungen , Seligenthal , Springstille , Struth-Helmershof , Trusetal , Wahles , Wernshausen , Zillbach and from the then Bad Salzungen district the following cities and communities: Barchfeld , Gumpelstadt , Immelborn , Bad Liebenstein , Meimers , Steinbach , Waldfisch , Witzelroda and Schweina .
