The Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge .

The North Marmara Highway ( Turkish Kuzey Marmara Otoyolu ) is the third bypass of the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul . After completion, it also bypasses the cities of İzmit and Sakarya . The route runs north and parallel to the Otoyol 3 and Otoyol 4 motorways . The most important feeders are the Odayeri feeder in the west and the Paşaköy feeder in the east . The motorway touches the Otoyol 4 near the Sabiha Gökcen airport . The route cuts through many forest areas north of Istanbul and does not run through built-up areas. The reasons given for the project are, on the one hand, the relief of inner-city traffic and the existing Otoyol 3 and Otoyol 4 and, on the other hand, the connection to the new Istanbul airport . The motorway will be realized with the build-operate-transfer model .

A significant part of the road is the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge , which opened in August 2016.

The route between the Odayeri feeder and Pendik ( Kurtköy ), where the connection to Otoyol 4 is located, was extended by 2016 . The rest of the highway is under construction and should be completed in the next few years.
