Otto Bauer (born February 26, 1931 in Jauernig ) is a German forester . From 1976 to 1993 he was head of the Bavarian State Forest Administration .

Career

Otto Bauer was born as the son of a forester . His father managed the forest property of the diocese of Breslau in Sudeten Silesia . He attended grammar school in Freiwaldau and, after being expelled in 1946, passed the final examination in Nördlingen . From 1949 to 1953 he studied forest sciences in Freiburg and Munich. From 1954 he worked at the Institute for Forest Policy in Munich.

In 1957 he passed the Great State Forest Examination and subsequently joined the Bayreuth Forestry Directorate . In 1964, he moved to the Lohr-West Forestry Office as deputy head of the forestry department and also taught at the Lohr forestry school . In 1966 he became the head of the forestry department in Rothenbuch in the Spessart region , and in 1969 he was a consultant at the Oberforstdirektion Würzburg .

From 1971 he worked in the Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forestry as a consultant for public information and documentation. In 1974 he became a personnel officer in the forest area. From January 1, 1976 to 1993 he was head of the Bavarian State Forestry Administration and later Ministerial Director of the Ministry of Agriculture.
