Joseph Rademacher

Joseph Rademacher (born December 3, 1840 in Westphalia , Missouri , USA ; † June 12, 1900 in Chicago ) was Bishop of Fort Wayne .

Life

Joseph Rademacher studied philosophy at St. Vincent's College in Latrobe and Catholic theology at St. Michael's Seminary in Pittsburgh . He received on 2 August 1863 by the Bishop of Fort Wayne, John Henry Luers , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Rademacher was a pastor in Attica , Indiana and from 1870 in Columbia City . In 1872 he became chancellor of the diocese of Fort Wayne and pastor of the parish of St. Mary in Fort Wayne . From 1880 to 1883, Joseph Rademacher was pastor of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Lafayette , Indiana.

On April 3, 1883, Pope Leo XIII appointed him . to the Bishop of Nashville . The Archbishop of Chicago , Patrick Augustine Feehan , donated him episcopal ordination on June 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Fort Wayne, Joseph Gregory Dwenger CPpS , and the Bishop of Columbus , John Ambrose Watterson . On July 14, 1893 Leo XIII appointed him. to the Bishop of Fort Wayne.
