Otto Gregussen

Otto Gregussen (born September 15, 1956 in Bodø ) is a Norwegian manager and politician of the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). From 2000 to 2001 he was the Minister for Fisheries in his country.

Career

Gregussen trained as a fisheries economist from 1976 to 1979. From 1979 to 1986 he worked as a clerk at a fisheries association before becoming head of department. In 1992 he became political advisor to the Ministry of Fisheries, and from 1994 to 1996 he was State Secretary there. Between 1996 and 1999 he was CEO of the Norwegian Fish Farmers Association ( Norske Fiskeoppdretteres Forening ).

On March 17, 2000 he was appointed Minister of Fisheries in the Jens Stoltenberg I government. He held this office until the end of the government on October 19, 2001. Afterwards he was head of the business association Næringslivets Hovedorganisasjon in Trøndelag until 2003 . From 2003 to 2006 he worked at the Norwegian Embassy as a fisheries officer in Washington, DC
