Anne Kristin Sydnes
Anne Kristin Sydnes (born May 13, 1956 in Oslo ; † March 3, 2017 ) was a Norwegian politician of the social democratic Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). From 2000 to 2001 she was Development Aid Minister in the Stoltenberg I cabinet .
Career
Sydnes graduated with a degree in political science in 1985 . From 1985 to 1997 she worked as a researcher at the Fridtjof Nansens Institute . From 1998 to 2000 she worked at Statoil in the human rights department. In March 2000 she was appointed Minister for Development Aid, an office she held until the change of government in October 2001.
Private
Sydnes was married to the politician Terje Osmundsen and later to Jan Egeland and had two daughters. In May 2017, she succumbed to cancer, which was diagnosed in late 2014.
