Échemines is a French commune with 94 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aube department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Nogent-sur-Seine and to the municipality association L'Orvin et l'Ardusson, founded in 2003 . The inhabitants are called Écheminois .

geography

Échemines is located 20 kilometers northwest of Troyes in the southwest of the Champagne sèche , the "dry Champagne". The community of 18.2 km² is characterized by extensive fields on a flat ground relief. Échemines is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Orvilliers-Saint-Julien in the north, Saint-Mesmin and Fontaine-les-Grès in the northeast, Le Pavillon-Sainte-Julie in the east, Villeloup in the southeast, Dierrey-Saint-Pierre in the south, and Prunay-Belleville in the southwest and Saint-Flavy in the northwest.

Échemines is very rural. There are eleven farms in the community that are engaged in the cultivation of grain, pulses and oilseeds.

The D 442 trunk road from Nogent-sur-Seine to Troyes runs through the municipality of Échemines . There are connections to the A 5 and A 26 autoroute near the city of Troyes, 20 kilometers away .
