Charny-le-Bachot is a French commune with 258 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aube department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Nogent-sur-Seine and to the community association Seine et Aube, founded in 2016 . The inhabitants are called Charnéens .

geography

Charny-le-Bachot is located 28 kilometers north-north-west of Troyes at the confluence of the Barbuise in the Aube , in the heart of the Champagne sèche , the "dry Champagne". The area is characterized by a lack of forests, except for the remains of alluvial forest, and by plains covered by large fields. Charny-le-Bachot is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Plancy-l'Abbaye in the north, Rhèges in the east, Droupt-Sainte-Marie in the south, Méry-sur-Seine in the southwest and Longueville-sur-Aube in the west.
