Ossey-les-Trois-Maisons is a French commune with 592 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aube department in the Grand Est region . The place belongs to the arrondissement of Nogent-sur-Seine and the canton of Saint-Lyé . The municipality is also part of the community association L'Orvin et de l'Ardusson, founded in 2003 . The inhabitants are called Osseyons / Osseyonnes .
geography
Ossey-les-Trois-Maisons is located around 29 kilometers north-west of Troyes in the north-west of the Aube department. The community consists of the three grown together settlements Les Flasses, Les Trois Maisons and Ossey as well as a few individual farmsteads. The Ardusson River crosses the Étang de la Mardelle pond west of the village.
Neighboring municipalities are Origny-le-Sec in the north and northeast, Orvilliers-Saint-Julien in the east, Saint-Flavy in the southeast, Marigny-le-Châtel in the southwest and Saint-Martin-de-Bossenay in the west.
history
As the whetstone shows, the area has been inhabited for a long time. Various Roman roads led through today's municipal area. The village of Ossey has existed since at least 1147. In that year, a village Occe was mentioned in a deed of donation from Garnier II de Trainel (Lord of Marigny) to the Abbey of Le Paraclet . Until the French Revolution , Ossey-les-Trois-Maisons was within the province of Champagne . The parish belonged to the district of Nogent-sur-Seine from 1793 to 1801. Since 1801 it has been assigned to the Arrondissement of Nogent-sur-Seine. From 1793 to 1801 the municipality was assigned to the canton of Marigny. And from 1801 to 1973 it was part of the canton of Romilly (-sur-Seine). From 1973 to 2015 the municipality was within the canton of Romilly-sur-Seine-1 . From 1793 to 1801 the community was named Ossey les Trois Maisons .
