Villenauxe-la-Grande is a French commune with 2,721 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aube department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Nogent-sur-Seine and the canton of Nogent-sur-Seine .
geography
The municipality is roughly halfway between Troyes and Paris , on the border with the neighboring departments of Marne and Seine-et-Marne , around five kilometers north of the Seine . The place itself is on the banks of the Noxe River . Neighboring communities are:
- Nesle-la-Reposte in the north (Dép. Marne),
- Montgenost in the northeast (Dép. Marne),
- Plessis-Barbuise in the southeast,
- Barbuise in the south,
- Montpothier in the southwest and
