Ferreux-Quincey is a French commune with 399 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aube department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Nogent-sur-Seine and to the Nogentais municipal association founded in 2006 . The inhabitants are called ferrillons .
The municipality in its current form was created in 1972 through the incorporation of the formerly independent municipality of Quincey into Ferreux .
geography
The municipality of Ferreux-Quincey, consisting of the eponymous villages Quincey and Ferreux , is twelve kilometers southeast of Nogent-sur-Seine and about 37 kilometers northwest of Troyes in the southwest of the Champagne sèche , the "dry Champagne". The Ardusson , which is lined with alluvial forests, flows through the 15.32 km² community . Between the forests of Le Grand Parc in the north and Bois de Ferreux in the south, the landscape is characterized by fields and meadows on a gently undulating ground relief. Ferreux-Quincey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pont-sur-Seine in the north, Saint-Hilaire-sous-Romilly in the north-east, Saint-Loup-de-Buffigny in the east and south-east, Avant-lès-Marcilly in the south-west and Saint-Aubin in the Northwest.

Ferreux-Quincey is very rural. Nine farms are located in the community (grain cultivation, cattle breeding).
The D 442 from Nogent-sur-Seine to Troyes runs through the municipality of Ferreux-Quincey . There are connections to the A 5 and A 26 car routes near the city of Troyes, 37 kilometers away . The train station in the city of Nogent-sur-Seine, twelve kilometers away, is on the Paris – Mulhouse railway line .
