Otto Hofmann (politician, 1819)

Otto Georg Hermann Conrad Hofmann (born January 7, 1819 in Darmstadt ; † January 25, 1883 ibid) was a Hessian lawyer and politician ( progress ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Otto Hofmann was the son of court attorney Carl Christoph Conrad Hofmann and his wife Marie Eleonore, née Huth. Hofmann, who was of Protestant faith, married Marie Emilie nee Rosenberg (1821-1848) in Darmstadt on October 5, 1846. After her death, he married Elisabeth Karoline, born Bücking (1831–1909) in Vilbel on August 31, 1852 .

Hofmann studied law at the University of Giessen from 1835 and became court clerk at the court in Darmstadt . In 1846 he became court attorney there and in 1879 lecturer council and legal member in the departments of the Ministry of Finance with the character of a regional finance council. He was a member of the Administrative Court .

From 1862 to 1866 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 1 / Bessungen .
