Otto Pannenbecker (born March 4, 1879 in Oberhausen ; † May 19, 1956 there ) was a German politician of the Center Party .

Life and work

Pannenbecker was a postal worker by profession. Until his dismissal for political reasons in 1939, he headed the Ruhrort post office . After the Second World War he was appointed head of the Oberhausen post office.

Political party

Already during the German Empire Pannenbecker belonged to the Center Party, which he represented in the Oberhausen city ​​council after the First World War .

MP

Pannenbecker belonged to the German Bundestag for the Center Party in its first legislative period (1949–1953). From 1949 to May 21, 1953, he was deputy chairman of the Bundestag committee for postal and telecommunications. From February 20, 1952, he was the successor to Helene Wessel , who had converted to the GVP , chairman of the FU parliamentary group, the joint parliamentary group of the center and the Bavarian party , after he had previously been their parliamentary manager.

From 1952 until his death he was Lord Mayor of Oberhausen .

In 1954 Otto Pannenbecker was awarded the Grand Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
