A little later he was given the position of doctor in charge at the Darmstadt Elisabethstift. In 1889 he completed his habilitation at the University of Halle with the writing Contributions to the teaching of galactorrhea for the subject of gynecology and obstetrics and became first assistant at the women's clinic.
