Pär Sundström (born June 8, 1981 in Falun ) is a Swedish bassist and next to singer Brodén the last remaining founding member of the heavy metal band Sabaton . He is also the manager and lyricist of many of the group's songs.

Life

In his youth, Sundström played in black and death metal bands. A four-piece band he played in gained momentum when Joakim Brodén joined them. In 1999 he founded Aeon with Brodén, Oskar Montelius, Rikard Sundén and Richard Larsson, who left the band in 2001. The band was soon renamed "Sabaton". Regarding his role for Sabaton, Sundström remarked in an interview with metalheadspotted.com : “I do not practice a lot. I make sure I know all the Sabaton tunes but thats about it. My job is not just to play bass. I do a lot of stuff that is necessary for the band as manager. "

Before Sabaton became a professional band, Sundström had a "well-paying job managing a large company" for five years. His management office for Sabaton is located in Falun, as is the band's studio.

Sundström is childless and has a sister. His musical influences are mainly Twisted Sister , especially Dee Snider , Johann Sebastian Bach and Skid Row . In an interview with the Polish Sabaton fan club, he named Iron Maiden , Scorpions , Guns N 'Roses , Raubtier , Skid Row and Sabaton as favorite bands . In the early years of Sabaton, Sundström performed the pyrotechnics for the stage shows himself; he is a trained pyrotechnician.
