Péré (Charente-Maritime)
Péré is a former French community with 381 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Rochefort and is part of the canton of Surgères . The inhabitants are called Péréens .
geography
Péré is located approximately 24 kilometers east of La Rochelle in the historic Aunis region . Péré is surrounded by the villages of Chambon in the north and west, Surgères in the east, Saint-Germain-de-Marencennes in the south and south-east and Landrais in the south-west.
history
On March 1, 2018, the municipality was united with Saint-Germain-de-Marencennes to form the Commune nouvelle Saint-Pierre-la-Noue .
