Péter Klobusiczky Archbishop of Kalocse

Péter Klobusiczky (born June 26, 1752 in Fehér-Gyarmat , Kingdom of Hungary , † July 2, 1843 in Kalocsa (Hungary)) was the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Kalocsa .

Life

He joined the " Society of Jesus " ( SJ ) on October 17, 1769 and was ordained a deacon on August 24, 1774 and SJ on September 25, 1775 .

On July 10, 1807 he was appointed Bishop of Satu Mare by imperial decree Francis I. This appointment was confirmed by Pope Pius VII on January 10, 1808. He was consecrated on February 21, 1808 by the Archbishop of Eger, István Fischer de Nagy . Mitkonsekrator the Bishop of was Rožňava , Ferenc Szanyi . Like his predecessor, he initially lived as a guest in the castle of the Károlyi Erdödi count family until his residence was completed. He completed the cathedral , the bishop's residence with the attached seminary and held from 23.-26. September 1821 the first diocesan synod.

The emperor appointed him Archbishop of Kalocsa on December 21, 1821, which was also confirmed by Pius VII on April 19, 1822. He had a hospital and old people's home built in Kalocsa.

Archbishop Péter Klobusiczky died on July 2, 1843 and was buried in the crypt of Kalocsa Cathedral.
