Architecture and history

The three-storey half - timbered building was built in 1665, according to other information, in 1663 by master carpenter Andreas Schröder . The inscription M. ANDREAS SCHRÖDER with a coat of arms refers to him . The half-timbered facade has profiled lugs , stylized ship throats and pyramid beam heads . In addition, the compartments are provided with decorative lining. The building is an example of the changing forms of half-timbered construction. At the end of the 18th century it was rebuilt. At the end of the 19th century, a bakery was set up in the right part of the building , with the actual bakery and oven in the rear building. The bakery was on the ground floor, the flour floor on the upper floor.

In 1905 a shop was installed on the ground floor.

From 1998 the building was repaired. Jugendbauhütte and German Foundation for Monument Protection use the house as accommodation and for seminars. The handover for use as a residential building for the participants in the youth building hut took place in September 2003. There is also a workshop. The renovation of the house was made possible by a foundation from the couple Brigitte and Hans Linhard . The income from the foundation will continue to be used to maintain the house.
