Pāvels Šteinbors (born September 21, 1985 in Riga ) is a Latvian football goalkeeper . He has played in his professional career so far in Latvia , England , South Africa , Poland and Cyprus .
Career
society
Pāvels Šteinbors began his career in the youth of Skonto Riga , known as JFC Skonto . In the goalkeeping position he went through the entire youth department of the capital club. From the 2001 season he was part of the professional team. Until the end of the 2003 season , however, he remained without a league game. During this time, Skonto won the championship and cup double twice . In 2004 he left the club and moved to FK Jūrmala . From there, Šteinbors was awarded to FC Blackpool in January 2008 for half a year . After the loan ended, the FK Liepājas Metalurgs signed him . Under the German coach Rüdiger Abramczik , however, he was only a substitute goalkeeper behind Viktors Spole . During this time the team won the Latvian championship . It was not until the 2011 season that Šteinbors had a regular place for a long time. In August 2012 he moved to South Africa for one season to the Golden Arrows from Durban . Then he was under contract with Górnik Zabrze in Poland for two years . In the summer of 2015 he signed with Nea Salamis Famagusta .
National team
As reserve goalkeeper, Šteinbors was behind Andris Vaņins in the squad of the victorious Latvian national team at the Baltic Cup 2014 . A year later, in November 2015, he made his debut for the national team in an international match against Northern Ireland in Belfast .
