Deutsche Bank acts as the tenant and had the historic palace extensively renovated by the Berlin architects Kuehn Malvezzi . The house has 750 m² of exhibition space, which is spread over three floors. There is a studio for events on the upper floor, the forum on the ground floor is used for events and catering . The official opening took place on September 27, 2018 with the exhibition The World on Paper , which featured works by important artists such as Doug Aitken , Joseph Beuys , Ellen Gallagher , Sigmar Polke , Gerhard Richter and Haegue Yang from the Deutsche Bank Collection .

concept

The PalaisPopulaire expands the activities of the Deutsche Bank KunstHalle , which closed at the beginning of 2018 and was designed as a pure exhibition space. The PalaisPopulaire, on the other hand, sees itself as an interdisciplinary platform for the different forms of contemporary culture: art, literature, music, sport, performance and dance. The house shows exhibitions from the Deutsche Bank Collection, introduces Deutsche Bank's “Artist of the Year” and presents exhibitions and events that are designed in collaboration with international institutions. The cooperation partners of the PalaisPopulaire include the London Tate , the Berlin Philharmonic , the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels and Deutsche Sporthilfe . The so-called lunch lectures , which are offered every Wednesday from 1 pm to 2 pm, are a specialty . This is a guided tour of the respective exhibition with a subsequent lunch menu.

The manager of the house is Svenja von Reichenbach.
