Palanca ( Russian Паланка ) is the easternmost village of the Republic of Moldova with 2020 inhabitants (2004).
Palanca is located on the border between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine in the mouth of the Dniester at an altitude of 20 m in the Ștefan Vodă district, 135 km southeast of the capital Chișinău on the European route 87 / trunk road M15 and has a border crossing to Ukraine , at which there is an office the EUBAM is located. The European road, which runs east of the village, is the shortest connection between the south-western and northern parts of Ukraine and is owned by Ukraine, although it crosses Moldovan territory. The Ukrainian city of Bilyayivka is located 28 km northeast of Palanca.
