The panorama lift on Melchsee-Frutt in the canton of Obwalden is a lift system and a lookout tower .
history
The elevator is located on the Frutt, at the so-called “Old Stollen” and was opened in 2011. It transports hikers and skiers coming from Distelboden to and from their accommodation in the Oberen Frutt. The elevator has a capacity of 485 people per hour and operates free of charge around the clock. The manufacturer of the system is Schindler Aufzüge AG. A maximum of 21 people can be accommodated in the elevator cabin. The permissible total weight is 1600 kg. The viewing platform offers an overview of the Melchsee and the Obwalden mountain landscape there.
