Localization of the Canton of Lucerne in Switzerland

The Zytturm is one of nine towers of the Musegg Wall in the city of Lucerne . It is located between the watchtower and the umbrella tower .

It is the only tower of the Musegg Wall that has a dial and a clockwork. The tower has the first strike right in Lucerne. This means that it strikes a minute earlier than any other clock.

The building is 31 meters high, making it the fourth tallest tower in the Musegg Wall.

history

The tower was built in 1442. Then the dial and the tower painting were renovated several times.

The tower has been open to the public since 1951.

museum

A museum has been located in the tower since 2012, which contains nine Lucerne tower clocks from the late Middle Ages to the last century.
