The Wissifluhturm is a lookout tower on the alp of the same name in the municipality of Vitznau in the Swiss canton of Lucerne .
situation
The tower made of wood is nine meters high. Thirty steps lead to the viewing platform at a height of six meters. The platform offers a view of Lake Lucerne and the Buochs military airfield.
The quickest way to get to the observation tower is with the Wissifluh cable car. From the mountain station, a footpath leads to the tower in five minutes.
history
The tower was built in 1990 from the wood of the old Rigibahn depot in Vitznau.
A Super Puma helicopter from the Swiss Army flew the tower shell from Vitznau to the current location.
