Paolo Longo (born November 3, 1977 in Cavalese ) is a former Italian biathlete .

Paolo Longo from Club Fiamme Gialle lives in Predazzo . He has been a biathlete since 1993. He made his international debut at the Junior World Championships in Forni Avoltri in 1997. Here he won silver in the relay race with Theo Senoner , Alexander Inderst and Flavien Jordaney. In 1999 he made his debut in Hochfilzen as 82nd in an individual in the Biathlon World Cup . In his third race, an individual in Osrblie , he won World Cup points for the first time in 15th place and achieved his best ever World Cup result in an individual race. With the season he was sixth two years later in Ruhpolding . In the same year he appeared in Pokljuka for the first time at the biathlon world championships and was 52 in singles. At the end of the season he started in Jericho at the Military World Championships, where he was 33rd in the sprint.

The highlight of the following season was the first participation in the Olympic Winter Games . In Salt Lake City he competed in all races and achieved a 33rd place in the individual as the best result. After the games he was only used in the European Cup until the end of the season, where he achieved his best result in Langdorf as second in the sprint. Longo competed in his last major international race at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin . There he was 55th in the individual and with Christian De Lorenzi , René-Laurent Vuillermoz and Wilfried Pallhuber relay eight. Several races in the European Biathlon Cup followed until 2007 . In Martell he won a sprint race.
