Paolo Magnani (born December 31, 1926 in Pieve Porto Morone , Province of Pavia , Italy ) is Bishop Emeritus of Treviso .

Life

Paolo Magnani was ordained a priest on June 29, 1951 . He then studied dogmatics until 1955 at the Lombardo Seminar and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome . From 1955 he was professor of dogmatics at the Diocesan Seminary of Pavia , whose rector he became in 1965. In addition, in 1969 appointed general vicar , Magnani rose in 1975 to general vicar of the diocese of Pavia.

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Lodi on July 27, 1977 . The Archbishop of Bologna , Antonio Cardinal Poma , ordained him episcopal on September 10th of the same year; Co- consecrators were the future Cardinal Ernesto Civardi , Secretary of the Congregation for Bishops , and Antonio Giuseppe Angioni , Bishop of Pavia. On November 19, 1988, he was appointed Bishop of Treviso and on February 11, 1989, he was appointed to the office.

On December 3, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation due to reasons of age. Paolo Magnani has lived in the municipality of Sant'Agnese in Treviso ever since .
