action
In the fictional British Woodmere, the local family doctor Angela Benton is murdered in a playground in front of her child and many other people. The perpetrator escapes and remains unknown. The team around Detectives Nina Suresh, Bobby Day, Alec Wayfield and Inspector Michael Niles are now trying to solve the case and quickly track down Jacob Appley, a schizophrenic patient of Dr. Crowley, who is later found dead and can be excluded as a perpetrator.
Now the team receives several pieces of information and it appears that someone is posing as a detective and asking witnesses why the person is henceforth referred to as a "ghost detective". The trail leads to Angela Benton's ex-boyfriend Ruben Lukana, who is found dead in his Düsseldorf swimming pool. The investigations are now taking place in cooperation with the German team of investigators around Linda Felber and her partner Walti Merian. It quickly turns out that a suspect has fled to Düsseldorf, Bobby Day flies to and is now investigating directly with the German commissioners.
