The Olympic Village in Athens , where athletes from all over the world were still preparing for the Summer Olympics in 2004 , has been forgotten by many more than ten years later and is abandoned and decaying between some also no longer used sports facilities. Only a few working class families are housed in this almost deserted place after the buildings were released as apartments after the end of the games. The residents also include a group of young people whose playground has always been ruins. The oldest of the group is 22 year old Anna. Together with the 17-year-old Dimitris, with whom she starts a relationship, she often visits a posh resort , which they reach by swimming across the sea. It is in the park to the feature film debut of Sofia Exarchou . She also wrote the script for the film. Exarchou was born in Athens and studied at the Polytechnic, later at the Stavrakos Film School and also acting at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York.

For the young actors involved, the film was the first or second engagement they had received: Dimitris Kitsos took on the role of Dimitris, Dimitra Vlagopoulou the role of Anna and Enuki Gvenatadze the role of Markos. The Danish actor Thomas Bo Larsen plays Jens in the film.

The film premiered on September 9, 2016 as part of the Toronto International Film Festival and was screened as a competition film at the San Sebastián Film Festival from September 16, 2016 . The film was presented at the Warsaw International Film Festival from October 9, 2016 and at the London Film Festival from October 13, 2016 . The film was officially released in Greek cinemas on March 9, 2017. In June 2017 the film was presented at the Munich Film Festival .

Exarchous film project was presented at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 2015 , where the film in preparation was awarded the Works-in-Progress Prize .
