Park in the countryside

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Park in the countryside is the collective name for four recreation parks in Switzerland , which are generated by a foundation operated. They are funded by the Culture percent of Migros , a cooperative retail chain . The task of the foundations is to preserve the local recreation areas entrusted to them and to make them accessible to the general public for leisure activities. They are also responsible for ensuring that the parks can be used as cultural and meeting centers. The idea for this goes back to Migros founder Gottlieb Duttweiler .

Parks

The oldest of these facilities is the Park im Grüene in Rüschlikon south of Zurich . It was created in 1946 when Gottlieb Duttweiler and his wife Adele Duttweiler-Bertschi had their property converted into a park and donated it to the Federation of Migros Cooperatives. At first it was open to the members of the cooperative, and from 1947 to the general public. The “Im Grüene” foundation founded by the Duttweiler couple is responsible; this is also the sponsor of the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute think tank opened in 1963 .

The second park is the Parc Pré Vert du Signal de Bougy . This is located on the Signal de Bougy mountain above Lake Geneva , in the area of the municipality of Bougy-Villars in the canton of Vaud . In 1970, the then Migros general director Pierre Arnold founded the Fondation Pré Vert du Signal de Bougy , the park opened in 1971.

In Münchenstein near Basel is the "Park in the Green". The "Im Grünen" foundation, established in 1978, designed the facility on the Brüglinger Ebene , which opened two years later as part of the Grün 80 horticultural exhibition . The name of the exhibition has been used as a name for the park.

The last to be added was the “Park im Grünen” on the Gurten above Köniz , Bern's local mountain . The "Gurten-Park im Grünen" foundation was established in 1995 and began redesigning the site in 1997. The opening was in 1999.
