About this picture

The former Banzkow office was located in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). Until 2013, three municipalities were united in this office to carry out their administrative business. The administrative seat was in Banzkow . As a result of a merger with the previous offices of Ostufer Schweriner See and Crivitz , the Banzkow office was merged on January 1, 2014 in the newly formed Crivitz office , which operates a citizens' office in Banzkow.

The office was composed of the three communities Banzkow, Plate and Sukow. Due to the proximity to the state capital Schwerin , the population has grown continuously since the 1990s.

The official area extended from the Schweriner See in the north along the Stör waterway to the federal motorway 24 in the south. To the east of the office was the Lewitz landscape protection area . In the south and west the area bordered the offices of Ludwigslust-Land and Neustadt-Glewe , in the east on the office Crivitz and in the north on the state capital Schwerin and the office east bank Schweriner See . North of Plate (district Consrade), the highest elevations reach a height of over 70  m above sea level. NHN .

In addition to agriculture (breeding of Angus cattle and horses) and the increasingly dominant wind power , tourism in particular is playing an increasing role.

The state capital Schwerin is around 15 kilometers away.
