Pauca is a town in the La Paz department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Pauca is the central place of the canton of Pauca in the municipality of Colquiri in the province of Inquisivi . The village is located at an altitude of 3728 m on the left, northern bank of the Río Khala Parani, which forms the border between the province of Inquisivi in the department of La Paz and the province of Tapacarí in the department of Cochabamba .

Pauca lies between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Amazon lowlands in the east. The region has a distinctive time-of-day climate in which the mean temperature fluctuations during the day are more pronounced than during the year.

Five kilometers after Lequepalca, at the mouth of the Río Janho Kkota near Thola Pampa / Aranjuez, an unpaved road branches off north to Ancocota , in the next right-hand bend of Ruta 4 is the village of Huayllamarca . Here, on the left side of Ruta 4, an unpaved country road branches off in a north-easterly direction, climbs for the first eight kilometers to an altitude of 4600 m and reaches Pauca after 22 kilometers.
