Paul Brandle

Paul Brändle (* 1992 in Kempten ) is a German jazz musician ( guitar ).

Live and act

Brändle, who grew up in Wertingen and whose father also plays string instruments, was interested in music from an early age. At the age of seven he learned classical guitar, at nine he switched to the electric guitar ; When he was only twelve years old, he wanted to become a musician. At the age of 15 he began to concentrate on jazz. After graduating from high school, he completed a bachelor's degree in jazz guitar from 2011 to 2015 at the University of Music and Theater in Munich with Peter O'Mara .

With Johannes Emminger, whom he got to know in the Bavarian Youth Jazz Orchestra, he founded a guitar duo in 2012. Since 2014 he has been a member of Vincent Eberle's quintet . He also toured Europe with Rick Hollander's quartet ; he performed at several jazz festivals with the Christian Elsässer Jazz Orchestra . He also played in a trio with jazz pianist André Schwager and drummer Guido May . With fellow students he founded the funk band Fazer , which also presented itself at festivals in Berlin and South Tyrol.

Prizes and awards

With the quintet Fazer , Brändle reached the finals of the 9th European Burghauser Junior Jazz Prize in 2017; In the same year the group received the music scholarship from the Munich Culture Department. In 2018 he received the New German Jazz Prize with the Eberle quintet .
