Paul C. Martin (economist)
Paul Christoph Martin (born September 20, 1939 in Luckenwalde ; † April 3, 2020 ) was a German economist , business journalist and author with a doctorate .
Life
From 1958 to 1968 he studied philosophy , history and economics in Berlin , Bonn , Munich and Chicago (with Milton Friedman ). - As a guest of the Studiobühne at the University of Bonn, he also appeared in the first performance of the play “Feuerfuß. Emphase für Bühne ”by Gerd Hergen Lübben , directed by the author, and received particular media coverage: Paul Christoph Martin as the actor of the“ sad clown Trissire ”, whose monologue in the headstand, should be named as an“ amazing achievement ”and“ with priority ” was to hold. - In 1966 he was based on the at the University of Bonn submitted dissertation , the German economy development of the world economic crisis under the influence of monopolization and the American economic policy to Dr. phil. From 1992 to 2000 he was vice editor-in-chief of the Bild newspaper in Hamburg . Most recently he worked as a freelance writer.
Based on the property theory of economics of the Bremen professors Gunnar Heinsohn and Otto Steiger , he developed the theory of debitism , which describes capitalism as a credit chain letter system.
As an opponent of state economic interventions, Paul Martin preferred a gold currency .
