Paul Gégauff

Paul Gégauff [ ˌpol ʒeˈɡof ] (born August 10, 1922 in Blotzheim , Haut-Rhin , France ; † December 24, 1983 in Gjøvik , Norway ) was a French screenwriter , writer and film actor . He was married to the actress Danièle Rosencranz, from whom he later divorced and wrote the script for many French film directors , so u. a. for Éric Rohmer or for Claude Chabrol , with whom he worked the most. For the screenplay for the film Nur die Sonne was Zeuge , he received an Edgar Allan Poe Award for best foreign film in 1962 together with the director René Clément . At Christmas 1983 he was stabbed to death by his second wife.
