Paul Husfeldt

Paul Jürgen Husfeldt (born March 3, 1909 in Kiel , † December 29, 1972 ibid) was a German politician ( CDU ). From March to November 1946 he was President of the State Parliament of Schleswig-Holstein.

Life and work

Husfeldt was a Protestant pastor . In 1939 he received his doctorate as Dr. theol. at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel with the thesis Studies on the Problem of Law in Luther's Theology . The Pastor-Husfeldt-Park on Feldstrasse in Kiel is named after him, where a particle therapy center was built in 2008.

His grave is in the Eichhof park cemetery near Kiel.

From 1946 to 1947, Husfeldt belonged to the two state parliaments of Schleswig-Holstein appointed by the British occupying forces . There he was from April 11 to November 11, 1946 President of the State Parliament and from December 1946 to March 1947 Chairman of the Committee for Popular Education and Upbringing.

In May 1946, Husfeldt suggested a resolution to allow spectators to attend the sessions of the state parliament, which has been possible since then.
