Martin Kayenburg (born January 18, 1940 in Bochum ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2005 to 2009 he was President of the State Parliament of Schleswig-Holstein .

education and profession

After high school in 1961 at Albertus Magnus - High School in Beckum graduated Kayenburg a degree in business administration , which he as a graduate finished -Kaufmann. From 1966 he then worked as an assistant at the Institute for Economics and Social History at the University of Münster . In 1970 he became a member of the management team at the employers' association of Northwest German cement and lime works eV in Beckum. In 1974 he joined Alsen-Breitenburg Zement- und Kalkwerke GmbH , where he initially worked as an assistant to the works management in Itzehoe and Lägerdorf , from 1980 as commercial plant manager and authorized signatory and finally until 2003 as director of human resources at Alsen AG .

Martin Kayenburg was a member of the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein from 1992 to 2009 . From 1997 to 2005 he was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and thus also leader of the opposition . On March 17, 2005 he was elected President of the State Parliament.
