12 Stones is a Christian post-grunge / hard rock band that was formed in 2000 in Mandeville , Louisiana , ( USA ).
Surname
The "twelve stones" adorned the breastplate of High Priest Aaron , mentioned in the Bible in the Book of Exodus . They are supposed to represent the twelve tribes of Israel . The band members refer to themselves as followers of Christianity and want to express the hope and pain of life through their music.
Band history
12 Stones was founded in 2000 by singers Paul McCoy, Kevin Dorr (bass), Eric Weaver (guitar) and Patrick Quave (drums). The latter was soon replaced by Aaron Gainer.
The group was signed by Wind-Up Records . There the first album was released in 2002, which was recorded by the later Evanescence producer Dave Fortman in cooperation with Papa Roach regular producer Jay Baumgardner. This album reached number 147 in the American album charts . The following year Paul McCoy was involved in the song " Bring Me to Life " by the band Evanescence as a duet partner of Amy Lee . The success of this piece, which was also featured on the soundtrack of the film Daredevil and placed in the top ten of the American singles chart, also made his band better known through McCoy's involvement. The second album, Potter's Field, reached number 29 on the album charts in 2004.
In 2007 the third work, Anthem for the Underdog was published .
In 2010 they produced the single We Are One , the entry music of the WWE - Stables The Nexus .
The following year the band released their EP album called The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday .
On August 24, 2010, the band separated from Wind-up Records and signed a contract with Executive Music Group.
The group announced on their Twitter homepage on December 30th that they would record a new studio album in 2011. In the same year they produced their next single, Bulletproof .
In May 2012 the band released their fourth studio album in five years, Beneath the Scars . They then produced three more singles entitled: Infected , Psycho , and Worlds Collide . Her single Worlds Collide reached number 1 on the American charts in the same year in the US Christ Rock category.
