Jeffrey Paul Louis Piché OMI (born September 14, 1909 in Gravelbourg , Saskatchewan , Canada , † September 12, 1992 in Edmonton , Alberta ) was a Canadian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Mackenzie-Fort Smith .

Life

Paul Piché joined the Congregation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in and received on 23 December 1934, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 5, 1959, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the titular bishop of Orcistus and Vicar Apostolic of Mackenzie. The Coadjutor Archbishop of Edmonton , Anthony Jordan OMI, donated him episcopal ordination on June 11 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Vicar Apostolic von Grouard , Henri Routhier OMI, and the Bishop of Gravelbourg , Aimé Décosse .

Paul Piché participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council . He became the first bishop of Mackenzie-Fort Smith on July 13, 1967 as a result of the elevation of the Mackenzie Vicariate Apostolicate to the diocese . On January 24, 1986, Pope John Paul II accepted Paul Piché's resignation due to reasons of age.
