Paul Sikivie
Paul Sikivie (born January 8, 1983 in Florida ) is an American jazz musician ( double bass , also composition ) of modern jazz .
Live and act
Sikivie studied at the University of North Florida , with whose jazz ensemble the first recordings were made in 2004 ( And the Melody Still Lingers On ). In the following years he worked a. a. with the Jazz Conceptions Orchestra (including Brandon Lee , Robert Edwards , Alex LoRe ) ,. From 2010 he was a member of Aaron Diehl's trio , which toured worldwide with singer Cécile McLorin Salvant until 2018 and accompanied her on her albums For One to Love (2015; Grammy ) and Dreams and Daggers (2016, Grammy). He also played with Matt Wilson, Johnny O'Neal and Phil Stewart. In 2019/20 he is a member of the Bruce Harris Quintet, the Ben Zweig Trio, Lucine Yeghiazaryan Sextet and the Amanda Sedgwick Quintet. In the field of jazz he was involved in 14 recording sessions between 2004 and 2017, including a. also with Grant Stewart ( Roll On ), Mike Cottone and Ted Nash .
