Paul Weatherwax

Paul Weatherwax (born July 8, 1900 in Sturgis , Michigan , † September 13, 1960 in West Hollywood , California ) was an American film editor who won two Oscar for best editing .

Life

Weatherwax began his career as an editor in the Hollywood film industry in 1928 for the film Flying Romeos and worked on the editing of almost 100 films until his death .

At the 1949 Academy Awards , he won his first Academy Award for Best Editing, for City Without a Mask (1948) by Jules Dassin with Barry Fitzgerald , Don Taylor and Howard Duff in the lead roles .

Another Oscar in this category he won in 1957 with Gene Ruggiero for after the novel Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne created monumental film in 80 days around the world (1956) by directors Michael Anderson and John Farrow with David Niven , Cantinflas and Shirley MacLaine .
