Paul (Pavlos) of Greece from the house of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (born May 20, 1967 in Athens ) was Crown Prince of Greece in exile until the Greek monarchy was abolished by the military junta under Georgios Papadopoulos in 1973 . In Denmark is its official salutation due to its Danish ancestors still "His Royal Highness Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece, Prince of Denmark".

Life

Paul is the eldest son of former King Constantine II. Of Greece and his wife Anne-Marie , daughter of King Frederik IX. of Denmark and his wife Ingrid of Sweden . Since his parents went into exile in 1967 after a military coup , he grew up in Rome (1967–1973) and then in London .

In Rome he was taught by private tutors. In London, he attended Hellenic College in London from 1976 to 1984 , where he also graduated from high school. From 1984 to 1986 he was a student at Armand Hammer United World College of the American West , where he earned an International Baccalaureate . He spent the next four years as a lieutenant at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst . In 1990 he began studying international relations and economics at Georgetown University in Washington, DC , from which he graduated in 1995 with a master's degree.

From 1995 to 1997 he worked for a company that deals with hedge fund management. He is chairman of several charitable foundations. In 2002 he moved to London.

Marriage and offspring

In 1992 he met Marie-Chantal , the daughter of the American billionaire Robert Warren Miller . The marriage took place on July 1, 1995 in London . The marriage had five children:
